Hayden grew up in the Waikato, coming from a strong racing family. He became a Junior Driver in 2002 before starting work for Brent Mangos, where he stayed for 13 years. In 2011, Hayden and Brent entered into a three and a half year training partnership which included Hayden being a major part in star mare Bettor Cover Lover's success in the peak of her career.
After meeting Amanda, Hayden made the move back to Waikato in a new direction, working with yearlings at Windsor Park Stud. After a short stint there he realised his passion for the standardbreds was stronger so he headed to work for Graeme Rogerson where stayed for three and a half years.
In 2018, after regularly crossing paths with Mark Purdon when he was on Northern campaigns, Hayden accepted a senior stablehand position and they moved to Christchurch to join Mark and Natalie Rasmussen at the All Stars Stable in Rolleston. Six months later he was offered the Stable Foreman Position, a role he was ready to accept and now one that he has learnt an invaluable amount from as he embarks on the next stage of his training career.
Amanda grew up in Palmerston North and is from a Thoroughbred racing background. She rode track work from a young age but left racing for a period to follow her other passion, hairdressing.
After a few years of learning her trade in hairdressing, her love for the horses saw her move to Hamilton to work for Graeme Rogerson where she worked for 10 years overall with travelling in between.
Amanda and Hayden's daughter Avah was born in 2014 and Amanda continued her work with the horses. When it was time for a change and a new challenge and Hayden took the role at the All Stars Stable they packed up and moved to Rolleston.
Amanda has been involved hands on at the All Stars Stables over the last two years and has learnt a huge amount during this time. Recently she has been lucky enough to have Natalie Rasmussen take her under her wing and teach her all the different aspects of running the barn and the business as a whole, preparing her for this next step in her career.
